Electrical work in flats and shared buildings
If your property is a flat, identify the entrance, access contact and location of the consumer unit when enquiring. Explain whether any wiring or equipment is shared and who can authorise work to it. Our domestic electrical services include sockets, lighting and repairs within the agreed scope. Arrange any necessary permission with the landlord or managing agent before the visit.
Inspection, purchase and tenancy enquiries
For a rental property, provide the previous report and property details for a landlord EICR quotation. Tell us whether the property is occupied and how access will be coordinated. If you are purchasing in BS6, our home buyer inspection service offers a separate route. Send the relevant documents and agree the inspection scope; repairs following a report should be quoted and authorised separately.
Plan upgrades with the other trades
For rewiring or alterations during refurbishment, share the proposed layout and identify fittings you want to keep. Discuss access behind finishes and how the work will be sequenced with decorating or building work. For a workplace, use our commercial services and explain the operating hours. Ask for a written breakdown covering installation, testing, paperwork, making good and any exclusions.
