Existing Board Assessment
We review the existing consumer unit and the reasons for an upgrade. Inspection information, circuit condition and planned additions help establish the scope.

Kebbi Electrical Services provides consumer unit upgrades and fuse board replacement across Bristol. We assess the existing board, wiring and your plans before recommending the work that is appropriate for your home.
Considering a replacement after an inspection, or planning new electrical equipment? Share a photograph of the existing board and any electrical report so we can discuss the next steps.
We review the existing consumer unit and the reasons for an upgrade. Inspection information, circuit condition and planned additions help establish the scope.
We replace the agreed consumer unit and protective devices, with clear circuit identification. Access, equipment and the expected power interruption are discussed before the visit.
We discuss the protection suited to the installation, including circuit breakers and RCD or RCBO options. The equipment is selected as part of the agreed design.
New cooking equipment, an extension or other electrical additions may change your requirements. We assess the existing supply, circuit capacity and possible space for additions.
The completed work is inspected and tested. We explain the results, provide the relevant electrical documentation and identify any further work that needs separate agreement.
Please send your property address, a clear photograph of the closed consumer unit and any recent inspection report. Tell us about recurring faults and equipment you plan to add.
We discuss the proposed work, access to the board and circuits, and the likely period without power. Let us know about equipment that must remain available so arrangements can be considered before the job.
For rented properties, see our landlord consumer unit service.
The quotation sets out the proposed board, protective devices, testing and any agreed associated work. We explain known limitations and the arrangements for isolating the installation.
A new consumer unit does not repair faults elsewhere in the wiring. If assessment or testing identifies additional issues, we explain what was found and discuss the work required.
If more extensive wiring changes are needed, explore our house rewiring service and electrical installations and repairs.
It may be possible, but the wiring and the rest of the installation need to be assessed first. The age of the wiring alone does not decide whether a consumer unit can be replaced. The electrician checks the circuits, earthing, bonding, protective devices and any reported faults, then explains whether further work is needed. Replacing the board does not repair defects elsewhere in the wiring.
Not automatically. We consider its condition, the protection provided, the electrical installation and any planned additions before recommending an upgrade. If you have an EICR or clear photographs of the closed consumer unit, include them with your Bristol enquiry; do not remove the cover yourself.
The quotation depends on the existing installation, the agreed board and protective devices, access and any remedial work identified during assessment. We explain the proposed scope and price before the work is authorised.
